Character Basis

Angwu is based on Angwusnasomtaka, a kachina from Hopi mythology. Her second name is Tümas, which means "Crow Mother".

Design

Story

Sixteen years ago, Angwu battled Kala with Indr, Bhadra and Eurynomos, working together to seal the goddess away. Retreating from Mt. Sumeru, they discover an infant child, who is really a piece of Kala; Indr and Bhadra deciding to care for her and gave her the name Ajna.

As the years passed, Angwu took hold in Port Maerifa's Tower of Wisdom, seeking out any known way to keep Kala sealed away permanently; during her time in the tower, she takes on an apprentice named Jingfei.

Angwu becomes interrupted by a knock at the door to the Tower. Initially, she pushes the people away, expressing that she had more important matters to attend to, but she allowed them inside after learning that she was speaking with Ajna, the adaptive daughter of Indr, and the mention of Kala. Angwu reveals the truth behind Ajna's origins and Kala's history before sending her off on a quest to defeat Kala.
